More Money For Iraq And Afghanistan

The Bush administration on Monday asked for an additional $42.3 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, bringing the 2008 request for total war funding to $189.3 billion.

Sounds pretty typical so far, but then the fun begins.

Minutes after Bush spoke, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, warned the president not to expect Congress to "rubber-stamp" the latest request.

"In the coming weeks, we will hold it up to the light of day and fight for the change of strategy and redeployment of troops that is long overdue," Reid said.

Funny, it sounds VERY familiar. Oh yeah, that's what you and Nancy Pelosi said during your campaign of 2006. Well here we are almost a year later, and you've accomplished exactly squat. Save the rhetoric for the Daily Kos idiots out there who might buy into a line of crap like that Reid. The only thing you're good at is undermining troop morale and photo ops. I simply cannot wait until the citizens of Nevada wise up and see you for the underhanded weasel you really are.

Here's my prediction: Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and/or John Murtha will make a grand speech about how they are "working hard" to end the war in Iraq. How they are not going to "cave" "rubber stamp" or any other phrase of the day to the Bush administration, and yet, they will cave. Bush will get every penny he asks for. Don't believe me?
