TheHill.com - House overwhelmingly condemns MoveOn ad

The vote was 341-79.  However, not all are happy with that vote:

Lane Hudson of Huffington Post didn't appreciate it

House Dems Sell-Out MoveOn, Condemnation of Free Speech Gets More Votes than Children

The United States House of Representatives just voted to condemn Moveon.org for an ad, which ran in last Monday's New York Times.

Yesterday, the House passed legislation that will increase health care coverage to an additional 3.5 million children. That vote was 265-159.

But what Lane is doing is the same thing I've been telling everyone about this vote on the extended children's health insurance bit.  "Won't someone PLEASE think of the children!"

Many Democrats were disgusted with the moveon ad and are showing it with this vote.  However, many of those same Democrats are saying "look, we need to start being fiscally responsible" and are voting accordingly.

Besides, it's not like Bush is asking for the program to be cut, he's just saying he wants a less of an increase then they do.

That's the crux of what's going on.  Democrats are trying to play it up like big, mean, old Bush is trying to deny little children their health insurance, when in reality, Democrats are trying to push for a huge increase that will push this country further into debt.

Stop being hypocrites Democrats, either you complain about the deficit of you complain about the amount of money we spend on hand holding the American public isn't enough.  You can't have it both ways.
