I keep telling everyone that the Iraqi security forces are growing and doing better all the time, but they still need us for a bit. No one believes me and every prominent Democratic leader says that everything is "lost" and how we need to pull out now or within a few months.
Now, one of the commanders on the ground is saying the EXACT SAME THING:
"Do I think the Iraqi security forces are improving? Yes," said U.S. Army Col. Wayne Grigsby of the Third Infantry Division. "Are they where they need to be? No."
It's not a matter of us being there for years and years, it's just a matter of the Iraqi security folks being able to handle what we give them once we do leave. To do anything less will cause resentment and radicalism on a scale that you would not believe.
