What Congress Was Doing

So, for Congress to be out and about while precious time ticks away for the need of emergency spending for US troops, where do they decide to spend their time? Why the Carribean of course! So while a US troop is waiting for much needed supplies and ammunition, Congressional members are going to various "vacation" spots because of "port security"? That's a load of bullshit and everyone knows it. They were even caught in a mini lie. "At the Caneel Bay resort, where room rates reach $1,100 per night, the spokeswoman said Thompson and his wife paid the “government rate.” But, according to the reservations department, Caneel Bay doesn’t “offer any government rates.”

So what are we going to do about all this abuse? I say we start demanding term limits. Get fresh blood into Congress. You can't tell me lifelong members of Congress such as Ted Kennedy is a "man of the people". Get people into Congress who worked their way up from nothing, who know what's going on on the streets rather then opinion polls and lobbyists. But what are the odds of someone voting themselves out of a job? Probably close to 0%.
