Well isn't this technically a good thing? If there's a known terrorist on board a plane heading toward the US, wouldn't we want to know about it? What about "connecting the dots" that Democrats like to yell about? If a known terrorist credit card number is used for purchasing a flight, you can bet your ass that we'd want to know about it. The same goes for our giving information to our UK friends. If we didn't do this and then something happened, people would scream about "you didn't do enough to stop them".
When I board a flight, I have no reasonable expectation of privacy. They search my luggage and my person for various things. I certainly won't give them my real email address for fear of spam. They can have my hotmail address for that. :)
