UN Oil For Food Charges

Here comes the axe. Benon Sevan is being charged with bribery and conspiracy to commit wire fraud in his role in the UN's Oil for Food program designed to help Iraqi civilians. What this really turned out to be is Saddam's way of squeezing money out of people and getting around sanctions with bribes and corruption.

Unfortunately for Mr. Sevan, he's claiming that he's a "political scapegoat". What that means is that he's guilty and he has some dirt on people higher up then him. Let's see if he wants to tell us all he knows. Especially about his boss Kofi Annan.
