So Now You Complain About Length?

We've been involved in Iraq longer then WWII. This is true. However, there are some vast differences between the two conflicts that this guy doesn't want to show. There were vastly more countries involved in WWII. We weren't nation building during that time. We ended it with two nuclear weapons. We lost more than 400,000 lives then compared to 3,000 now. There was significantly higher civilian causalities in WWII. The Soviet Union took the brunt of the military deaths then. We're not doing a "scorched earth" run.

In the end more than 24,000,000 people lost their lives in WWII. It was one of, if not the number one, the worst loss of life conflicts in history. If we decided to massacre everyone within Iraq (which would NEVER happen) the conflict could be over within a matter of months. However, street to street fighting with an unknown enemy who doesn't wear a uniform, who pretends to be a civilian can make the fighting go a lot longer and is more dangerous then anyone can anticipate.
