For Clinton, Bid Hinges on Texas and Ohio

She has to win both Ohio and Texas comfortably, or she’s out,” said one superdelegate who has endorsed Mrs. Clinton, and who spoke on condition of anonymity to share a candid assessment. “The campaign is starting to come to terms with that.” Campaign advisers, also speaking privately in order to speak plainly, confirmed this view.Clinton_2008.sff_MDRC102_20080211124733

With high turn out's expected in the "battle for the Potomac", Hillary's ability to gather momentum seems to be slipping away.  Many people within her own party are starting to recognize that she may not be the the nominee.

What's worse, is that she has this air of secrecy about her with her saying she's "not ready to release her tax forms".  She's also making a classic mistake in the political world.  The same one that John Kerry pulled:  "Vote for me, THEN I'll do what you want".

Resisting calls from Barack Obama to release her income tax returns, Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday she would only do so if she secures the Democratic presidential nomination and contended her rival had been less than candid about his relationship with major campaign contributors.

That is classic deflection and avoidance.  I've done things like that when I was little and tried to weasel out of trouble.  A large portion of the nation is asking for "change" and Hillary is simply playing by the same old rule book.  And that's why she's not winning as handily as she thought she would.

She thought her name recognition, her husband's charm and Democrats remembering "the good old days" would allow her to stomp any candidate into the ground in short order.  Now that that hasn't happened, she has no "plan B".  With no plan b, she's not scrambling with real competition for voters.

Hillary, I cannot say this enough.  NEVER underestimate your enemies.  I don't care if you're up against a ladybug.  You assume that that ladybug has some kind of frickin' laser on it's head.  When you don't, then you run into trouble.
